Outreach Visits

Throughout the year, our Outreach Team travels into rural villages to visit our Bakhita children. These little ones are growing up in some of the most difficult conditions imaginable - living with a guardian, a granny, or sometimes a single parent who is doing everything possible to keep the family afloat. Poverty shapes every part of daily life here. Food is scarce, jobs are almost nonexistent, and most homes have no electricity or running water.

Each month, Mma Dinah and Sr. Gabrielle arrive with essentials that truly keep these families going: staple food supplies, school materials, and whatever urgent needs have surfaced since the last visit. Their presence is more than a delivery—it is a lifeline.

During our annual visit, we accompany them, bringing the beautiful gift bags donated by generous friends back home. This year, we also carried printed photos of the children from previous years. You would have thought we were handing out treasure. The joy, the laughter, the pride—those moments stay with you. And of course, there’s always a baby to hold along the way, a small reminder of how fragile and precious these young lives are.

Our gift bag donors also make it possible to share kindness beyond our Bakhita families. Extra items—bracelets, small gifts, and treats—allow us to include mothers and children who happen to be visiting when we arrive. In places where people have so little, generosity spreads quickly, and a simple bracelet can feel like a blessing.
