About Bakhita Charities

 

Bakhita Charities for Southern Africa, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that is registered in Michigan and founded by Maggie and John Williams, former volunteers in southern Africa.  Bakhita Charities has many generous supporters who are dedicated to sharing their blessings with the poorest and most vulnerable children.

 

Objective

 

The objective of Bakhita Charities is to provide support to children who have been orphaned or made vulnerable due to the HIV/AIDS pandemic in Sub-Saharan Africa.  Support includes basic emergency needs such as food, clothing and shelter as well as school fees and school supplies.  Support is provided through organizations and individuals that are known to us personally.

 

Activities

 

• Raise awareness through presentations to community groups, churches and schools

• Solicit financial donations from individuals and organizations in the United States

• Disperse funds to select worthy causes

• Monitor effectiveness of dispersed funds
