Always Fun

Many young children are living in crushing poverty in remote villages in South Africa. A preschool can provide much needed early education, food, social interaction, and structure for them. Bakhita Charities is supporting the preschool in the village of Ga Phasha.

We had fun with the kids again this year. Many of them remembered our previous visits and were ready with hugs and smiles for us.

The principal received the toys that we donated with joy and the children were delighted to see the new books and were ready to sit and look at the pictures. Sr. Amaka truly enjoys spending time with these little ones – and they thoroughly enjoy her attention.

The children recited some of their lessons for us with enthusiasm and pride. Several of them took turns stating their name, age, mother’s name and where they live and ending with a big THANK YOU! They did this all in a singsong English that was precious.

The staff at the preschool are dedicated and happy people who love caring for these children. Funding of the school is always a challenge and the Bakhita Charities donation was well-received. The preschool provides a great service to this small village giving 50 children a good start for their future.
